One Week Until Takeoff

One week from today I will be departing BWI Airport and, after a brief layover in Chicago, eventually arriving at Shanghai Pudong Airport. Altogether, this trip will encompass approximately 19 hours. For 14.5 of those hours, I will be restricted to a Boeing 777 and unable to do move much more than to walk to and from the restroom.

Luckily, I will have lots of fun toys and other gear with me that should help me survive the flight, as well as fully document my trip.

I am going to make a sincere effort to blog daily during the trip. Hopefully I’ll have lots of great pictures and interesting video to share. If you have any special requests as to what you’d like to see pictures of, what you’d like me to eat, or anything else, just leave a comment.

Chris, check on what voltage requirements are. You may need to bring adaptors so you can charge up your stuff.

bring extra batteries for the headphones…they usually need them and if you use them for most of the flight they will probably run out.

a good book or two is key if you get sick of the electronics.

couple of snacks in case you don’t like the food on the plane….it’s a long time if you’re hungry.

btw…i have adaptors here for most of the electronics…camera, dvd players etc. but if you have any you may want to bring because i don’t know about your computer and it would be a shame if i don’t have just what you need.

Get on Beijing time immediately and don’t nap if it’s daytime. It will be a challenge the first day but will pay off big time!
